This web page is dedicated to the ongoing voyage of Seabird, our 62 foot Nordhavn passagemaker. We retired in 2005 to live our dream of cruising to distant lands. We sold our home as well as our cars and became free to cruise the world. Our journey started from St Augustine, Florida and began with several small shake down cruises to ensure that the vessel (and crew!!) were properly prepared for long distance cruising. We acquired our Nordhavn in 2003 and have cruised up and down the U.S. East Coast but our limited free time demanded long off shore passages with little opportunity for us to explore. This has since changed and we look forward to sharing our adventures with family and friends.
We have now traveled extensively along the coast of the US and Central America, through the Panama Canal, up the west coast of the US to Canada, Alaska, the Aleutian Islands, Siberia, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philippines to Borneo, and Phuket, Thailand.
Last year we finished 3 years cruising the Mediterranean. We have cruised from Marmaris, Turkey, through Greece, Montenegro, Croatia and Italy. This year we will focus on Spain and the Ballearics Islands.
Now, Seabird is back in the US after 10 years of cruising the world. It has been an amazing adventure. If you have an inkling, and the time and resources, please embark upon an adventure. You will never regret it!
