Well this is a Christmas like no other for us. Christmas Eve was spent moored at the Bitter End in Virgin Gorda. We were treated to a boat parade Caribbean style and a dinner of Conch Burgers and Shrimp Tacos. It doesn’t get any better than that. The boats in the harbor were very creative with their festive lighting and Christmas Carols could be heard from every direction. Bitter End must be a favorite destination as the harbor was full and small charter boats and big megayachts enjoyed the joy of Caribbean Christmas. Christmas morning started with a hike that is more like a rock climb to the highest peak of the North Sound. We were greeted by a large Iguana on our descent who made it known that this was his trail and he was not moving. After a snapshot, Steven used his power of persuasion (use your imagination) to get our new friend out of our way. No Christmas morning in the Caribbean would be complete without a swim in the clear turquoise sea as we think of our friends and family frolicking in the snow on this Christmas day. As we write this we are listening to Steel Band Christmas Carols while cruising to Caneel Bay in St Johns, USVI. We will anchor to enjoy our Christmas Dinner and tomorrow we will join our family and friends in St Thomas for more holiday cheer. We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!! |
Merry Christmas!!!
